FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of glass used in making decorative and art articles. The mixture for producing glass contains soda, quartz sand and dried slurry from filter fields of water treatment stations removed from filters at iron removal stations, with the following ratio of components in wt %: soda 20.0-25.0; quartz sand 50.0-60.0; said slurry 20.0-25.0. The slurry is characterised by the following composition in wt%: SiO₂ - 41.0-50.3; Fe³⁺ - 25.0-33.1; Ca²⁺ - 4.0-6.0; Mg²⁺ - 1.5-2.4; HCO₃ ^-, CO₃ ^-, SO₄ ^-, CI^-, OHCl^2- - 1.6-23.0.

EFFECT: low melting temperature of the glass.
