FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in making ceramic membranes for concentrating oxygen from oxygen-containing volatile media or for carrying out oxidation reactions while ensuring flow rate of oxygen in the material of at least 0.01 ncm3/(min.·cm2) at 950°C and difference in partial pressure of oxygen between two free gas phases equal to 0.2 bars. The composite materials contain at least one hollow fibre made from oxygen-conducting ceramic material which conducts oxygen anions and electrons, or is a combination of oxygen anion-conducting ceramic material and electroconductive ceramic or non-ceramic material. The outer surface of the hollow fibre is in contact with the outer surface of the same hollow fibre or another hollow fibre made from oxygen-conducting ceramic material, and their point of contact is bound by sintering. In another version of the composite material, there is one or two connecting elements for inlet or outlet of fluid media on both end surfaces of the hollow fibre. The crude hollow fibre is obtained through extrusion of a mixture of polymer and ceramic particles. The composite material is made from one or more such fibres by creating mutual contacts on their outer surface and (if needed) connecting elements followed by thermal treatment with removal of polymer and sintering the ceramic material.
