PROCEDURE FOR INCREASED PRODUCTION OF METHANE FROM COAL BEARING STRATA BY RAPID OXIDATION (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC E21B43/16 

FIELD: oil and gas production.

SUBSTANCE: procedure for increased extraction of methane form coal bearing strata consists in following stages: drilling boreholes into coal bed; perforation of bed by means of charge for formation of initial perforation channels; initiation of coal combustion. Also, perforating charge has a standard charging part and a composition capable to form localised temporary oxidising mediums in initial perforation channels. Initiation of coal combustion is performed at presence of oxidising mediums for enlargement of the initial perforation channels. Other procedures consist in: perforation of coal bearing strata by means of standard perforating charge for formation of perforation channels and in treatment of these perforation channels with a composition creating temporary localised oxidising mediums in them including oxidant, and initiation of coal combustion with utilisation of excessive oxidant for enlargement of initial perforation channels.

EFFECT: increased extraction of methane from coal bed.
