FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves locking one of the links of an actuation loop, applying process failure force to the link of the actuation loop which is not locked and measurement. The locking loop used is the driving or driven member of the slip clutch under investigation, and failure of link which is not locked takes place through direct application of a force onto it from an external independent loading source, whose force vector is directed perpendicular to the radius of the clutch while simultaneously recording the torque of the created loading source. The device for realising said method has a flexible linking member with fasteners, a force measuring mechanism connected to the flexible member placed in front of the force measuring mechanism and a mechanical or pneumohydraulic loader connected to it. The force measuring mechanism is in form of an electronic unit strain gauges, means of recalculating the applied force into torque and outputting the result on a digital display.
EFFECT: possibility of checking a clutch directly in the actuation loop, adjusting the clutch to values given in the technical-and-operation data card, during the measurement process and high accuracy of measurement.
