FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves collecting Hypogymnia physodes lichen samples from trees growing in the industrial zone, and lichen samples from trees growing in a background zone without industrial emission of ecotoxicants. The process of interaction of the lichen from the background zone with industrial emissions in laboratory conditions is simulated to obtain standard lichen samples. Further, lichen samples collected from the industrial zone are compared with the standard samples. The standard samples and samples collected from the industrial zone are dried at 25-35°C until attaining constant weight, crushed in a vibration mill, and pressed in a mixture with potassium bromide at pressure 2.6·106 Pa to obtain tablets. The infrared spectra of both the standard samples and samples collected from the industrial zone are obtained and compared.
EFFECT: possibility of determining the nature and content of ecotoxicants in the atmosphere.
