FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves treating carbonaceous material first with 4-10% aqueous solution of sodium silicate or alkaline solution of nanodispersed silicon dioxide powder, drying at normal conditions, followed by saturation with aqueous sulphamate solution (ammonium or sodium) and final drying. Saturation is carried out while maintaining pH of the saturating solution in the range of 4-8. Fire-resistance of the material treated using said method increases 7.7-8.4 fold.
EFFECT: high fire-resistance.
