FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device and method for separation of continuous glass band transferred by conveyor belt. Proposed device comprises cutting appliance, break-off roll, transfer rolls and appliances to press and break off acting in the following order: a) notch line marking glass band separation point is applied on moving band; b) after said line is reached by break-off roll, one of transfer rolls, downstream of said break-off roll, swings downward; c) with said notch line in topmost point of break-off roll, pres appliances press on glass bond section extending beyond break-off roll to break it off; d) broken-off piece of glass fallen, transfer rolls come back into conveyor.

EFFECT: reduced time and rejections.
