FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves collecting monofractions, exciting luminescence therein and determining mineral composition. Luminescence is excited with X-ray beams. The X-ray fluorescence spectrum is measured in the 550-700 nm wavelength range and content of silver in the mineral is determined from luminescence intensity using a graph of luminescence intensity versus content of silver in a sample which is plotted using several reference samples, for which content of silver is determined using one of existing methods (X-ray phase analysis or electron probe microanalysis).
EFFECT: more rapid and reliable determination.
