FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pulsed laser has on its optical axis a discharge channel of length L, a totally reflecting convex mirror and an antireflection converging lens. The axis of the discharge channel coincides with the optical axis of the laser. The totally reflecting mirror lies on one side of the discharge channel at a distance l1 from its nearest end. The lens lies on the other side of the discharge channel which is the output side for laser radiation at a distance l2 from the nearest end of the discharge channel. On the surface of the lens facing the discharge channel in the region of the optical axis of the laser there is a section with a radiation reflecting coating. The surface area of said section is comparable with the area of the working surface of the totally reflecting mirror, wherein l2+L/2<l1<τc/2-(l2+L), where τ is the inversion life cycle and c is the speed of light.
EFFECT: high output power of laser radiation while simultaneously reducing its divergence to diffraction limit in single-beam radiation mode.
