CATALYST FOR CATALYTIC PARTIAL OXIDATION OF HYDROCARBONS AND METHOD OF SYNTHETIC GAS PRODUCTION Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B01J35/10 B01J32/00 B01J21/04 B01J23/38 C01B3/40

Abstract RU 2432992 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to catalysts of synthetic gas production. A catalyst is described for catalytic partial oxidation of hydrocarbon, containing a carrier that includes inorganic oxide and active metal applied on it, besides, the catalyst is used to produce synthetic gas, which contains carbon monoxide and hydrogen, by addition of at least oxygen and steam to raw hydrocarbon, containing at least one of the following substances - methane or light hydrocarbon, having 2 or more atoms of carbon, and thus the raw hydrocarbon is exposed to partial oxidation, besides, the catalyst is characterised by the fact that the total volume of pores having the diameter within the limits of the first range of pores distribution along the catalyst from 0.1 mcm to less than 1.0 mcm makes 32% or more of the whole volume of pores, and the total volume of pores, having the diameter within the second range of pores distribution from 1.0 mcm to less than 10 mcm makes 14% or more of the total volume of pores. Also a method is described to produce synthetic gas with application of the specified catalyst.

EFFECT: catalyst has higher resistance to thermal shocks.
