FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: photovoltaic concentrator module has a primary optical concentrator in form of a Fresnel lens and a secondary optical concentrator with total focal distance F. The optical axis of the concentrators passes through the centre of the photoactive region of the photocell made in form of a circle of diameter d (mm). The secondary optical concentrator is placed at distance H (mm) from the front surface of the Fresnel lens and includes an optical element in form of a cut off spherical layer made from material with refraction index n1=1.4-1.6. The optical element of the secondary optical concentrator has thickness W (mm) with radius R (mm) of the spherical surface, diameter D0 (mm) of the smaller base and diameter D1 of the larger base. Values F, d, H, W, R, D0, D1 satisfy certain relationships.

EFFECT: invention enables to design a photovoltaic concentrator module with high reliability and longer service life owing to reduced local concentration of solar radiation and levelling of illumination of the photoactive region of the photocell while maintaining high energy output and good off-orientation characteristics.
