FIELD: printing industry.
SUBSTANCE: radiation-sensitive composition is proposed, which comprises a radically polymerisable component, a composition absorbing infrared radiation, polymer binder and the composition of initiator of iodonium borate, capable of generating radicals sufficient to initiate polymerisation of free radically polymerisable component due to irradiation. Iodonium borate composition includes a special composition of borate diariliodonium having organic substituents to provide an amount of at least 6 carbon atoms in cation phenyl iodonium rings. The proposed composition can be applied to a suitable base to provide a negative printing element with improved digital speed and good shelf life. There are also methods proposed to create a printing element and a represented element.
EFFECT: proposed composition has an extended shelf life compared to known compositions, and allows keeping printing element without loss of speed and quality of a digital image.
