NEEDLELESS INJECTION DEVICE WITH DOUBLE LIMITER AND REDUCED PRESSURE PROFILES Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61M5/30

Abstract RU 2437684 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely, to preliminarily filled disposable needleless injection devices which work together with an energy source, for instance, gas generator, and used in medicine or veterinary for intracutaneous, subcutaneous and intramuscular injection of liquid active substance of therapeutic purpose. Needleless (1) injection device contains source of energy, reservoir (3), closed with upper on flow limiter (4) and lower on flow limiter (5), and injection tip, provided with receiver (7) and at least one injection canal (8). Between limiters there is liquid active substance (6). Limiter has cavity (10), whose height equals the distance which is passed by lower on flow limiter in order to ensure opening of each injection canal. Height of said cavity, expressed in millimeters is within the limits from minimal height to maximal height, determined, respectively, by the following ratios: minimal height = 3, maximal height = 15 × exp. (-(V/9)2) + 10, where V is rate of initial rise of pressure profile, expressed in bars per microsecond; ratio of length of each injection canal to height of said cavity is within the limits from 1 to 2.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to achieve excellent results of needless injection with pressure profiles, whose initial values are within the limits from 50 to 150 bar, preferably from 70 to 100 bar, that is at values noticeably smaller than traditionally acceptable in field of technology under consideration, aimed at obtaining strong and economical needless injecting devices, ensuring at the same time guaranteed high reproducibility of injections.
