METHOD OF X-RAY LUMINESCENCE SEPARATION OF MINERALS Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC B07C5/00

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in transfer of flow of material to be separated, irradiating said flow by train of pulses of exciting radiation in preset section of material path, recording mineral luminescence signal intensity, processing said signal in real time to define separation parameters, comparing obtained parameters with preset parameters and separating dressed material from aforesaid flow proceeding from the results of comparison. Note here that signal intensity threshold is set after preset time after excitation radiation pulse termination. In recording luminescence signal intensity, the latter is measured after preset time after termination of every pulse. Obtained intensity is memorised for every provided it exceeds preset threshold. Value measured in current time interval is compared with those obtained in previous intervals. Time interval of maximum intensity is defined. To define separation parameters, luminescence signal of maximum measured intensity is processed to separated dressed mineral if separation parameters lie in the range of preset values.

EFFECT: higher of selectivity of separation, localisation of material to be dressed in flow of material to be separated.
