FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of coarse aggregate - crushed rock and gravel for use in concrete compositions when building hydraulic engineering structures, dams, bridges, pools, reservoirs, flood-gates and wells. In the method of preparing coarse aggregate, involving washing said aggregate with water and then holding in aqueous alkaline solution and drying, said holding is carried out for 48-120 hours in aqueous saturated solution of Na3PO4 or Na2C2O4 or NaJO3, and drying is carried out until achieving moisture of 1-7%.
EFFECT: improved adhesion of treated coarse aggregate to concrete.
