SUBSTANCE: device includes bottomhole engine and drilling tool connected to drilling pipes, one or more units in sequence including starter and power hydrocylinders with their hollow stocks connected to slide valve, and power hydrocylinder of each unit joined to the next unit or bottomhole engine by spline or square pipe. Method of axial load generation for horizontal well bottomhole involves axial load generation for drilling tool, destruction of rock in the bottomhole and regular tool advance to bottomhole as the rock is crushed. Axial load for drilling tool is generated by one or more sequential units consisting of starter and power hydrocylinders with their hollow stocks connected to slide valve, and regular advance of drilling tool is implemented in cycles with length equal to the total run length for each power hydrocylinder.
EFFECT: extended length range of horizontal wellbore drilling and enhanced drilling speed.
