FIELD: transport vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: this invention covers asynchronous tractive drive of the locomotives. Mechanical characteristics of the motors are affected in order to balance the loads of the asynchronous tractive motors of electrically propelled vehicles; for this purpose current torque values are measured, and average torque value, including motor torque deviation from the average value, is determined. Considering deviation value and the sign for tractive drive operation at light loads, rotary speed of a perfect idle run for the specified electric motor is corrected with preservation of a corrective action by its rigidity, and at the enhanced loads rigidity of its mechanical characteristic is corrected with preservation of a corrective action by its rotary speed.

EFFECT: ensuring of equal tractive efforts for the motors at any total tractive effort.
