FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of aviation, notably to the control systems for airplane airfoils. The electro-mechanical drive unit has a controlled airfoil that is connected to the airfoil fixed against the fuselage with the ability to rotate, the first and the second electro-mechanical drives installed in alignment between the airfoil fixed against the fuselage and the controlled one. Each drive has a fixed housing attached to the airfoil that does not move against the fuselage. The reducer in the drive is represented by the two-stage harmonic gear drive the rotating part of which is made in the form of the output hollow shaft with the flange that is fixed on the controlled airfoil in such a way that the pivot centre of the controlled airfoil overlaps the pivot centres of the first and the second electro-mechanical drives. Emergency release devices are located axially in the outlet hollow shaft of the electro-mechanical drive.
EFFECT: reduction of the weight and the dimensions of the electro-mechanical drive unit.
