FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: gas turbine engine comprises gearbox for assembly units (AGX) coupled with engine shaft to drive auxiliary assembly units and air-operated starter mounted on said gearbox. Note here that starter crankcase and that of gearbox are communicated to allow starter lubricant to flow from AGX crankcase. Starter oil crankcase pressure is developed by air source independent of AGX crankcase. Preferably, air is force from engine thrust bearing sealing chamber.
EFFECT: ruling out oil leaks.
