FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is intended for quality control of plasma spot welding of 1-2.5 mm-thick sheets from stainless chromium-nickel steels. Prior to welding, clearance between sheets to be welded together and thickness of top sheets are measured. In welding, current and welding interval are measured. After welding, diameter of fusion zone is calculated by formula with due allowance for said magnitudes. Outer diameter of weld spot is measured on top sheet to calculate diameter of fusion zone by formula with due allowance for said magnitude. Then, aforesaid said two diameters obtained by two formulas are compared, and compared to magnitude specified in specifications.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of calculation, hence, higher quality control.
