FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing polyurethanes through reaction of polyisocyanates a) with compounds containing at least two hydrogen atoms, which are capable of reacting with isocyanate groups, b) where the polyisocyanate a) used is at least a polyisocyanate ai) which is a mixture of diphenyl methane diisocyanate and polyphenylene polymethylene polyisocyanates with average functionality of 2.2-5.2, content of 2-nuclear MDI of not more than 2 wt %, content of 3-nuclear MDI of 25-65 wt %, content of 4-nuclear MDI of 5-45 wt %, content of ≥ 5-nuclear MDI of 1-40 wt % and content of uretonimines of not more than 4 wt %, respectively, in terms of the weight of polyisocyanate ai). The invention also describes polyisocyanates with average functionality of 2.2-5.2 for producing polyurethanes, for producing one-component foamed polyurethanes in aerosol cans, for producing polyurethane adhesives and/or sealants, for producing polyurethane elastomers, for producing two-component foamed polyurethanes or for producing two-component rigid polyurethane foam, and application, respectively.

EFFECT: production of polyurethanes based on MDI material with low monomer content, which exhibit high stability during storage and good processing properties.
