SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of crude mixtures for making expanded clay which can be used as concrete aggregate. The crude mixture for making expanded clay contains the following, wt %: clay material 84.0-89.5; distillery dregs from wine-cognac production 0.5-1.0; flue ash or ground quartz sand with specific surface area of 4500-5500 cm2/g 10.0-15.0.
EFFECT: higher strength of expanded clay.
