SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of crude mixtures for making expanded clay which can be used as light and high-strength concrete aggregate. The crude mixture for making expanded clay contains, wt %: montmorillonite clay 85.5-88.5, spent grains from wine and cognac production 1.5-2.5, quartz sand ground and sieved with sieve No 014 9.0-13.0.
EFFECT: high strength of expanded clay made from the crude mixture.
