FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in an airtight lamp, having a sealed lead-in, a power supply system, a transparent dome made from high-strength transparent plastic, preferably polycarbonate, and a gas-discharge lamp, the dome is made from a pipe section whose ends are fitted with sealing plugs, one of which is fitted with a sealed lead-in, where lamp and the power supply system can be housed either in the same dome or different domes which are in form of blocks.
EFFECT: simple lamp design as well as high air-tightness and strength thereof, safer operation of the lamp and possibility of connecting several lamps to one power supply system, which reduces the weight of the lamp and the cost of the illumination system.
