FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: illumination apparatus has a flat circuit board, having a first bearing axis in a first plane defined by the circuit board, and a plurality of light-emitting diode-based light sources on the circuit board. Each light source has a set of light-emitting diodes comprising a "microcircuit-on-board" type assembly of a plurality of light-emitting diode microcircuits and a collimator connected to the set of light-emitting diodes and has a second bearing axis indicating the orientation of the light source. Said plurality of light-emitting diode-based light sources is placed on the circuit board such that the first orientation of a first light source from the plurality of light sources relative the first bearing axis of the circuit board is different from the orientation of another light source from the plurality of light sources relative the first bearing axis of the circuit board.
EFFECT: improved uniformity of illumination.
