FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering for nitric-acid processing phosphate material to obtain calcium carbonate by converting calcium nitrate during production of NPK fertiliser. The method producing calcium carbonate involves: reaction of calcium nitrate with ammonium carbonate solution, extracting the residue of the end product from the suspension, washing said residue, thermal treatment at temperature 400…700°C and grinding.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the technology of processing calcium carbonate - a by-product of production of NPK fertiliser, into filler for use in different industries.
