FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: heavy-duty reactor (1) includes shaped frame (2) located at support structure and winding (3) electrically connected to power grid and contained into shaped frame (2) with which it is connected by support structures (4). Shaped frame (2) and winding (3) are located at distance (D) which is the function of electric current, inductance and/or geometry of winding and cannot be less than preset minimum value in order to absorb energy loss in shaped frame (2) generated by foreign currents under influence of magnetic induction in winding (3). The first distance (D) is measured from finish (3a, 3b) of winding (3) crossed by lines of magnetic induction up till shaped frame (2) connected to winding (3).
EFFECT: control of rector operation, prevention of losses and overheating leading to damage or fault to frame in result of foreign currents action.
