SUBSTANCE: in a planar radiator, consisting of an exciting dielectric waveguide and a dielectric flat wedge whose end face is the aperture of the radiator, the wedge is connected by its apex with its exciting monomode dielectric waveguide with polarisation of the electric field along the wide side of its rectangular section, wherein the apex angle of the wedge must not be more than 15 degrees, the thickness of the wedge b is equal to the narrow side of the section of the exciting waveguide, and the format of the cross-section of the wedge F on the end face of the wedge and the minimum format of the section of the wedge on the end face of the radiator are selected using mathematical expressions.
EFFECT: possibility of obtaining radiation of a one-dimensional Gaussian beam with the required beam width and phase distribution of the field in the beam, which retains beam properties at distances of up to tens wavelengths from the aperture of the radiator.
