FIELD: antenna equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to millimetre wavelength range antenna equipment and can be used in probing devices of radio interferometers for measurement of kinematic parameters of motion of surfaces in closed volumes under impact loads, as well as long-focus mirror antennas. In a metal waveguide feed consisting of an open end of a single-mode metal waveguide of circular cross-section and a dielectric insert of material with dielectric permeability ε from 2.3 to 2.6, part of which in form of rod fills section of metal waveguide, and part of which in form of truncated cone protrudes beyond end of metal waveguide and is joined to it with small base of cone, and larger base of cone is radiating aperture, inclination angle of truncated cone generatrix to its height is from 18 to 20°, diameter of larger base of cone D is selected from ratio 3.1λ≥D≥1.6λ, where λ is the operating wavelength of the radiation, and the diameter of the small base of the cone exceeds the diameter of the metal waveguide and is determined by the ratio
EFFECT: improvement of characteristics of a radiator with a dielectric insert and expansion of its application area at transverse and longitudinal sizes of dielectric inserts not exceeding several wavelengths.
