SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a phosphate adsorbent containing iron. The iron (III) based phosphate adsorbent contains: a) base material - starch, b) polynuclear iron (III) oxy hydroxides, c) a glucose derivative, partially introduced into the polar iron (III) oxy hydroxides, d) a carbonate characterised by phosphate binding capacity of about 140 mg of adsorbed phosphate per 1 g of phosphate adsorbent. The obtained iron (III) based phosphate adsorbent is then extracted by spray drying.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a high-capacity homogeneous and stable adsorbent, suitable for preparing pharmaceutical compositions.
