FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves the following steps: (a) preparing a paste, where rubber is dissolved in a suitable hydrocarbon solvent; (b) emulsifying the paste obtained at step (a) together with an aqueous soap solution to obtain a "soap-in-water" emulsion, (c) removing the hydrocarbon solvent to obtain latex with average particle size from 0.5 to 2.0 mcm. At step (b), a premix is obtained first, which is homogenised in the "soap-in-water" emulsion. The premix is obtained by mixing aqueous soap solution with the paste with volume ratio paste/aqueous soap solution from 1.5 to 3, using at least one homogeniser which contains a stator and a rotor operating with rotational speed of the outer rotor ring of 8-16 m/s. The premix is then homogenised on a rotor-stator homogeniser with rotational speed of the outer rotor ring of 16-35 m/s. The method optionally includes a step (d) for concentrating latex to obtain artificial latex with high content of dry substances.
EFFECT: invention improves stability and quality of the obtained latex.
