FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved method of producing carboxylic acid derivatives, selected from a group comprising esters and amides, involving reaction of a carboxylic ester, whose alcohol residue contains 1-6 carbon atoms, with an alcohol containing 1-40 carbon atoms and/or an amine containing 1-40 carbon atoms in the presence of a metal-containing catalyst, where at the end of the reaction, the metal-containing catalyst is brought into contact with water, and the obtained product is mixed with a super-absorbent, wherein contact of the catalyst with water is accompanied by hydrolysis thereof. The invention also relates to use of super-absorbents to separate residual metal of the metal-containing catalyst from the reaction mixture after hydrolysis of the catalyst.
EFFECT: method ensures reliable and complete extraction of catalysts at a high rate, low power consumption and negligible output loss.
