FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for experimental running-in during development and modernisation of propulsion single-chamber and multi-chamber plants, in particular, to simulate altitude conditions in case of firing tests of liquid-propellant engines with nozzles of high extents of expansion. The inlet section of the central body is equipped with a stem installed and extended along a diffuser's axis, made of material carried away in process of testing, at the same time the distance, at which the stem is extended, corresponds to the length of the carried away part of the stem.
EFFECT: invention provides for testing LPE with nozzles of high extent of expansion under ground conditions, providing for flow without interruption at low pressures and no interaction between impact waves and a nozzle wall.
