FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in a catadioptric telescope, having a meniscus lens, a primary mirror and a secondary mirror placed on the beam path, according to the invention, the secondary mirror is in form of a convex hyperboloid and lies at a distance of 0.35…0.45 times the meniscus diameter from the back surface of the meniscus lens.
EFFECT: high image quality and wider field of view of the telescope while keeping its dimensions small.
