FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to portable tools, particularly, tongs. Tongs 1 comprises moving and fixed arms 3 and 2 crossed at pivot pin 4. Said arms 2, 3 form gripping sections 5, 6 on one side of pivot pin 4 while tongs opening is formed on opposite side. Said pivot pin may be rearranged in lengthwise cutout 9 of fixed arm 2 and engaged in toothed joint between pivot pin 4 and said cutout 9 relative to said fixed arm 2. Said pivot pin gets disengaged from said joint only at stretching force at moving arm 3 acting across length of longitudinal cutout 9.
