SUBSTANCE: at least one opening of a container is checked for possible leakage of substances from the inside by optically scanning with an optical scanning device. According to the invention, the container has, on at least the area of the opening and/or on its seal, a contrast area having a surface structure and/or surface colour different from the rest of the surface of the container and/or the seal.
EFFECT: high reliability of checking air-tightness of closed containers.
