SUBSTANCE: proposed is a medication for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease including (as the active ingredients) a derivative of carbostyril with formula 
(1) (where A represents a lower alkyl group, the bond between positions 3 and 4 of the carbostyril skeleton being ordinary or double) or a salt thereof as well as probucol; additionally, one proposes the medication application for the said purpose and the corresponding treatment method.
EFFECT: demonstrated is the active ingredients action synergy and reduction of each ingredient's side effect during treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
