FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: article is put into a sealed vacuum test chamber. The inside of the article is filled with control liquid and its pressure is increased. Said pressure is maintained and the amount of vapour of the control liquid accumulating inside the chamber is measured, thus estimating the value of its leakage through microdefects in the article. According to the invention, the control liquid used is solvents - chlorofluorohydrocarbons. Also, before filling with the control liquid, atmospheric air is removed from the inside of the article and after feeding the control liquid into the article, dry gas with dew point not higher than -40°C is released into the evacuated volume of the test chamber.
EFFECT: high sensitivity and reliability of inspecting air-tightness.
