FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: method to operate a rail gauge includes movement of vehicles along it. The rail gauge comprises two lengths of rail, each of which is formed by rails joined with a clearance. Rails are connected to each other by means of joint pads with bolt openings arranged at lateral sides. The length of rail comprises rails, every of which at one lateral side with one joint pad is connected by means of round bolt openings, and with the other joint pad it is connected by means of bolt openings with a cross section in the form of a lengthy figure.
EFFECT: higher safety and reliability on a rail road, reduced power inputs for transportation of passengers and cargo, lower impact loads and hazardous noise effect at environment and passengers, increased service life of a rail road, rolling stock, lower rail creepage.
