FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of criminalistics and forensic analysis, namely, to a device for holding examinations and expert examinations of electronic information carriers. A device for carrying out examinations of mobile terminals in cellular networks consists of an Automated Workstation for forensic examinations of electronic information carriers, and in its composition additionally comprises a code generation unit, a control unit, a display unit, an interface unit, a data register, a counter, a comparison device, a controlled key, a resistor, an operational amplifier, an analog-digital converter, a memory unit and a processing unit. Taken together, the listed elements enable transmitting all possible authorisation code combinations to the SIM card input with interruption of the authorisation process up to the moment of recording a new value of the number of attempts at authorisation in non-volatile memory of the SIM card. The PIN code is determined by comparing the type of time dependency of the SIM card power current for all alternatives of the authorisation code and picking up therefrom the time dependency which corresponds to the authorisation procedure when entering the PIN code.

EFFECT: providing ability of automation of the process of selecting a code combination which is the PIN code of a cellular telephone undergoing criminalistic examination, with high reliability and operability.
