FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: rotary mechanism 10 includes rotor of mechanism, stator 14 of mechanism and fluid medium seal 16 located between rotor 12 of mechanism and stator 14 of mechanism. Fluid medium seal 16 includes stator 18 of fluid medium seal, rotor 20 of fluid medium seal and active gap control mechanism connected to stator 18 of fluid medium seal. Gap control mechanism is provided with possibility of controlling the gap between stator 18 of fluid medium seal and rotor 20 of fluid medium seal. Gap control mechanism includes one or more devices from alloy with shape memory effect, which are connected to housing of fluid medium seal and provided with possibility of offsetting the stator component to or from rotor 20 of fluid medium seal after current is supplied to device from alloy with shape memory effect. At power outage the stator component is moved to rotor component due to spring compression force.
EFFECT: maintaining minimum contact force between rotating and fixed parts of sealing system during transient operating modes of rotary mechanism.
