FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming. Hollow workpiece end is heated. Said end section is deformed in mould with metal edging in first passes to produce bulged section. Then, rod end is moulded to required shape and sizes. Metal edging is performed in, at least, three passes with increasing deformation. In first and second passes, rod channel diameter is reduced. Then, diameter of outer surface and channel diameter are increased. Rod head shape and sizes are produced in mould female die with increase in channel diameter.
EFFECT: expanded range of rods.
