FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of pellet powder for small arms, particularly for a 5.6 mm sports long rifle cartridge. The powder contains nitrocellulose, diphenylamine, dibutyl phthalate, technical carbon, graphite, ethyl acetate and moisture. The nitrocellulose material used is high-nitrogen pyroxylin from expired pyroxylin fine-grained non-phlegmatised powder.
EFFECT: invention provides high bullet speed (up to 410 m/s) with low velocity spread.
