FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structural radar absorbing materials which are used to facilitate electromagnetic compatibility of onboard equipment and protecting personnel from electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range. The disclosed structural radar absorbing material contains series-arranged outer structural layer, dielectric layer and metal shield, wherein the dielectric layer is structural and is a gradient structure made from fibreglass which contains an absorbent filler in form of carbonised fibre. Permittivity of the material increases from the outer structural layer to the metal shield. The absorbent filler is carbonised chopped fibre in form of dipoles with relative fibre length to diametre equal to 200-1000. Content of the absorbent filler in each stack is not higher than 1 vol%. The dielectric layer contains at least two stacks of structural monolayers of fibreglass with different content of absorbent filler.
EFFECT: high efficiency of protection from electromagnetic radiation with high strength of the material.
