SUBSTANCE: combination of various types of HARQ combination units may be arranged in a receiver and selected on the basis for each channel. The proper selection of the HARQ combination pattern may reduce the necessary size of a HARQ buffer and may provide a higher gain from combination compared to standard methods of HARQ combination. Besides, the type of HARQ combination unit may be dynamically selected with the help of forward and reverse shift between separate types of HARQ combination patterns, in order to reduce the bit error ratio (BER), without "saturation" of the HARQ buffer.
EFFECT: improved throughput capacity of a transfer channel.
