FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to crop production, in particular to methods for producing seeds of stevia (Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) Hemsley) in condition of open ground. In the method of producing seeds of stevia, 25-35-day seedlings are used, after 40-45 days after planting the daylight hours are reduced artificially. To do this, stevia plants are placed under the mobile box for regime adjustment of the duration of daylight hours, setting the daylight hours of 11-12 hours. The duration of the adjustment period of artificial light day duration is 4-8 days. After 25-35 days the phase of flowering sets in. Ripening of seeds occurs after 25-30 days after the onset of flowering. Then the plants are cut at a height of 5-10 cm from the soil surface. After natural drying of plants the seeds are separated. The mobile control box for regime adjustment of the daylight duration of plants contains a carcass made of two U-shaped racks interconnected with frames that are welded to the sleeves put on the racks and forming hinge joints with them. The light-tight cover, made of opaque dark cloth, polyethylene film or thick (kraft) paper, is put on the carcass.

EFFECT: increased seed harvesting due to accelerating the onset of flowering and optimisation of the conditions for pollination.
