FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: pulse engine running on detonating mix comprises, at least, one fire tube with transverse bottom moving between first and second extreme positions and closed by transverse thrust element arranged opposite said moving bottom. Elastic return means acts on moving bottom to push it from first position into second one and, on the other hand, to retard the latter at the end of its travel. Besides, engine comprises, at least, one fuel tank, means to feed fuel into fire tube variable-volume combustion chamber confined by fire tube sidewall, moving bottom and transverse thrust element. Said fuel feed means feeds fuel from fuel tank into transfer chamber. Engine comprises also means to inject fuel into combustion chamber from transfer chamber. Elastic return means consists, at least, partially, of fuel contained in transfer chamber.
EFFECT: improved operation.
