FIELD: mechanical engineering; engine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pulsating detonation engines capable of developing high speeds. Proposed engine has flame tube with cross bottom accommodating combustion chamber, and supply device providing cyclic delivery of fuel into combustion chamber. Cross bottom of flame tube is installed for movement relative to tube and it can occupy one of two extreme positions. First position corresponds to phase of detonation of fuel charge in combustion chamber of flame tube. Second position corresponds to phase of fuel delivery into combustion chamber. In first position, cross bottom is rigidly connected with flame tube by means of unlockable devices. In side wall of flame tube at least one hole is made to let in fuel charge. Hole is closed and is separated from combustion chamber by cross bottom when the latter occupies its first position, and it communicates with combustion chamber to deliver fuel, when cross bottom occupies its second position.
EFFECT: improved safety and simplified design of pulsating detonation engine.
