SUBSTANCE: wireless communication device (200) includes: a housing (210); a controller (220); memory (270); a transceiver (250), wherein the home signal includes at least a control channel and a packet data channel; a monitoring module (290) for monitoring the control channel and controlling a dynamic scaling module (295), wherein the monitoring module (290) reads the parameter field from the control channel which is used to determine that a message containing data has defined needs for processing which satisfy a defined threshold value; a dynamic scaling module (295) configured to provide energy conservation by varying voltage and frequency of the controller in essentially real-time mode in accordance with processing needs defined by the monitoring module.

EFFECT: longer battery life when using battery-powered wireless devices.
