FIELD: electrical communication engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication. Wireless transmit/receive module (WTRU) may include one or more antennae and a first transceiver operatively coupled to the antennae. One or more antennae and the first transceiver may be configured to receive a first signal from the network using zero power from the WTRU. One or more antennae and the first transceiver may be further configured to extract energy from the first signal. First transceiver may additionally be configured to analyze separation between threshold energy events to decode the energy signature of the first signal. First transceiver can be further configured to activate a second transceiver operatively coupled to one or more antennae, if the decoded energy signature matches the stored energy signature, wherein power to the second transceiver is provided by the WTRU. One or more antennae and a second transceiver may be configured to receive a second signal from the network.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to increase energy efficiency of the transmission/reception device.
